Supporting Local Evangelists in India to Reach More People
Faithful Before the Motorbike
A faithful evangelist we will call Samuel had spent years traveling between communities on an aging bicycle. The roads were long, the weather could be difficult, and every journey demanded time and physical strength. Still, he continued going.
Samuel knew that people were waiting to hear the Gospel. Believers needed encouragement, families needed prayer, and growing churches needed faithful leaders who would help them make disciples.
His bicycle allowed him to serve, but it also limited how far and how quickly he could travel. Then a ministry partner gave him a motorbike.
A Motorbike That Opened New Roads
When Samuel received the motorbike, tears filled his eyes. He understood that this was more than transportation. It meant less time traveling and more time ministering. He could visit communities more frequently, respond to needs sooner, and conserve his energy for teaching, praying, and encouraging believers.
Removing a Barrier to Faithful Ministry
The motorbike did not give Samuel his calling. God had already called him, and Samuel had demonstrated his faithfulness through years of service. The gift simply removed a practical barrier that had made his work more difficult.
This is why efforts to support local evangelists in India can make a meaningful difference. Local leaders already understand the languages, customs, and needs of the communities they serve. When they receive appropriate training and practical support, they can carry the Gospel farther and strengthen the churches growing around them.
More Than Reaching a Destination
Samuel’s story is not only about covering more miles. It is about reaching more people with the hope of Jesus.
Local evangelists often do much more than preach a message and move on. They pray with families, mentor new believers, train other leaders, and help establish local churches. Their work continues after someone first responds to the Gospel.
Making Disciples Who Continue Growing
Ministry partners also maintain records of baptisms and place new believers under the care of local pastors. These pastors encourage them to participate in a church, grow in their faith, and remain steadfast in following Christ. Leaders meet regularly with local preachers to review ministry progress and discuss the spiritual growth of those they serve.
The goal is not merely to count baptisms. The goal is to make disciples who become faithful members of local churches and eventually share Jesus with others.
Strengthening Those Who Are Already Going
Although a motorbike met Samuel’s particular need, the broader Every 4 Seconds mission is not centered on purchasing equipment. E4S primarily provides the training and travel support that ministry networks need to equip church planters, disciple-makers, and local leaders.
This support helps leaders travel to church-planter training, prepare believers to share their faith, and strengthen emerging churches. As disciples make other disciples, the Gospel can spread from one household to another and from one community to the next.
Helping the Gospel Go Farther
Every four seconds, someone in India dies without knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This reality brings urgency to every leader trained, every journey completed, and every opportunity to share the Gospel.
Samuel was already willing to go. The motorbike helped him travel farther, arrive sooner, and spend more time with the people God had called him to serve.
When you support local evangelists in India, you stand behind faithful believers who are already carrying the Gospel into communities where many people have never heard the name of Jesus.
Together, we can equip more leaders, reach more people, and help stop the clock.
