Every four seconds.

That’s the heartbeat behind our name — and the reason we exist. In India alone, someone slips into eternity every few seconds, and for the overwhelming majority, it happens without ever having heard the good news of Jesus. Whole communities, generations deep, have never once been given the chance to respond to a gospel much of the world takes for granted.

We started Every 4 Seconds because that reality is too urgent to ignore — and because something is already being done about it.

Who We Are

Every 4 Seconds is a Christian mission supporting the spread of the gospel across India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka — some of the least-reached places on earth. We are not a team of outsiders parachuting in. Our role is to come alongside the men and women who already live in these communities, speak the language, understand the culture, and are giving their lives to reach their own people. We help equip, train, and support them to do what no foreigner ever could.

How the Work Happens

The work is simple in shape and remarkable in scale. Local believers are trained and sent to share their faith, make disciples, and plant small house churches — often in villages and neighborhoods that have never had one. Those new churches, in turn, plant others. A single faithful leader can become the beginning of a movement, and what starts with one gathering can multiply into many. It’s the same pattern the church has followed since its earliest days: ordinary people, filled with the Spirit, carrying the gospel to their neighbors.

The Cost of Following Jesus

None of this is without cost. In many of the places we serve, following Jesus is dangerous. Laws restrict conversion. Believers can lose their families, their livelihoods, and at times their freedom or their safety. Baptism — the public declaration of faith — is often the most courageous thing a person will ever do.

That’s why you’ll notice something about the stories and photos we share: we protect identities. We don’t publish names, faces, or precise locations of the people on the ground. It isn’t for effect — it’s because their safety depends on it. We’re committed to telling the truth about what God is doing while never putting a brother or sister at risk to do it.
